Ali & Corporal John Robertson – Langley Castle wedding photography

Langley Castle wedding photography

Ali & John chose me to shoot their VERY intimate Langley Castle wedding photography , there were just 10 guests, the couple and myself at the beautiful castle in Northumberland.  I spent a couple of hours with them and it was such a lovely experience, I felt extremely privileged to have been part of this small but very romantic and relaxed day.  John is a Corporal in the Army and as such was dressed in his uniform, and he looked fantastic… luckily he didn’t steal Ali’s thunder though and she looked amazing!  I love how these guys are just unbelievably laid back, when I asked Ali about her bouquet it turned out she’d bought some flowers from a service station and safety pinned some material around them… not a bad cost cutting tip as they looked just like any other bridal bouquet!

I think their laid back attitude is what made shooting their Langley Castle wedding photography so enjoyable, as they and their families made me feel very welcome, it didn’t feel like I was intruding on a intimate family celebration, more that I was a guest at the wedding… it helped me get some fantastic images.  The bride and groom portraits were especially enjoyable as Ali & John are great fun and we had a lot of laughs during this part of my time with them, and it comes across in the images how relaxed these guys were in front of the camera, and how well they were able to follow my directions.

Ali & John’s wedding was absolutely awesome, looking back it feels like I was there for longer than a couple of hours, and I’m so glad they chose me to be part of their special day.  I wish them loads of happiness in their lives together!
