Whenever I shoot Jesmond Dene House wedding photography it always takes me back to my first ever wedding in this wonderful business, which you may have worked out was at the same venue. Alison & Leon’s big day will stay in my memory just as long – lovely couple, lovely venue, lovely wedding!
There’s a really sweet story behind why despite living In London Alison and Leon chose this venue for their big day, they stayed here when Leon popped the question as they used to live up in Newcastle during their student days. So they returned for their special day to complete a really romantic cycle.
Despite the weather being pretty dreadful I had a blast shooting Alison & Leon’s Jesmond Dene House wedding photography because the venue itself is just stunning, right through from the Great Hall where they were married to the staircase with a floor to ceiling window that pours in light for the romantic bride and groom portraits. I’m always happy to shoot indoors if the weather takes a turn for the worst and we got some lovely shots both I front of the fire place in the Great Hall and on the staircase.
The wedding was such a warm and loving affair and extremely chilled out just like Alison and Leon, they are so laid back Leon hadn’t even finished his speech before he stood up, however you’d never know and it’s probably one of the best groom speeches I’ve heard. I was sad to leave after the 1st dance but I know these guys would have partied away until the end and had lots of fun such is their and also their friends and family’s great personalities.
Huge congratulations to Alison and Leon, you guys are going to have such an awesome life together!
