Slaley Hall wedding photographer
Anne and Ben asked me to be the Slaley Hall wedding photographer for their October wedding, it turned out to be a beautiful day in both terms of the perfect autumnal weather and the brilliant celebration that was their wedding. They were blast to be around and the whole day had such a party vibe, a real celebration of love, friendships and close knit families… truly awesome! When I met these guys for the first time last year we really clicked and on the day I couldn’t have asked for a more accommodating and brilliant couple to be around, right through from Anne getting ready in the morning to a beautiful ceremony and finally some very moving speeches. The whole day was just perfect.
When Anne and Ben booked me as their Slaley Hall wedding photographer it was just until the end of the speeches, truth be told was a little sad to be leaving as I’d had so much fun with them but I knew the party would carry on without me and it had been a pleasure to capture all the important parts up to that point. When I arrived at the venue Anne was in great spirits and the bridal preparations were a good indication of how relaxed and fun the day would be, and boy was I right… but it was also a moving a love filled day, the ceremony in particular showed both sides to this great couple, with many tender moments and a few tears shed, but also hilarity ensuing when the pouring of sand from two vases in to one went a little awry and spilled all over the registrars table leading to a spontaneous eruption of laughter. It’s this mix of love and laughter that makes Anne and Ben so perfect for each other and a perfect couple to work with, I lost track of the amount of times I laughed during the day and they were incredibly welcoming throughout.
Oh I almost forgot to mention the Japanese Garden where we shot some beautiful bride and groom portraits, it’s hidden away and very private which made it such a romantic little spot, and the colour of the leaves laying on the ground and in the trees was something really amazing. Anne and Ben were great models too, really relaxed and natural in front of the camera and despite it being an extremely romantic setting we had a few laughs there too, as I came to expect quite quickly with these guys.
Anne and Ben your wedding was an absolute blast, such fun and something I am really happy to have been a part of, thank you and I wish you so much happiness in your future together.
