Hardwicke Hall wedding photography
Katy and Dan were looking for someone to shoot their Hardwicke Hall wedding photography in a contemporary and relaxed fashion and I’m happy our paths crossed at a wedding fayre in Durham. I met them again not long after at their apartment in Sunderland and I knew there and then that I wanted to shoot their wedding and luckily they felt the same way! They are great fun, really lovely and extremely kind and welcoming… right through from our initial meeting to the awesome pre-wedding shoot in Roker and finally their perfect wedding I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them.
This was my first time shooting Hardwicke Hall wedding photography but I hope to be back soon as it’s a lovely venue just outside of Hartlepool, however the day didn’t start here and I met Katy at her mum’s house in Horden for the bridal preparations, everyone was in great spirits and it really set the tone for the whole day – relaxed, fun and a real celebration. The ceremony was at St Mary’s Church in Horden which is a lovely old church and was full of laughter and tender moments, the odd tear here and a romantic atmosphere. Katy and Dan then jumped in their hired camper van (a surprise for Dan organised by Katy – how sweet!) and we all headed to Hardwicke Hall.
One of the things I love about Katy and Dan is that they were happy to follow my ideas for the photos, Dan carrying Katy through the long grasses and going back out in to the night to shoot a lovely portrait of them in front of the venue… basically they put their full trust in me and it was much appreciated. That’s Katy and Dan for you though, super chilled out, trusting, warm, great fun! No wonder their wedding was so good when they themselves are absolutely wonderfully lovely people. The perfect clients, the perfect couple and the perfect wedding… huge congratulations to them both, it was a pleasure being part of their happy day!
