Matfen Hall wedding photographer
This was my 2nd time as a (http://www.matfenhall.com) Matfen Hall wedding photographer shooting in November and it was very much another amazing wedding to be a part of! Lucy and Steven are a really fun couple and their whole day was full of laughter, amusing stories of Steven’s past and a grey wig that made for an amusing prop during the speeches that occasionally left guests covering their faces in shock at some of the groom’s jokes (hilarious though!). Every wedding reflects a couple’s personalities and this one was no exception, fantastic fun was had by all and in between the laughter were some really touching and loving moments that showed how much Lucy and Steven mean to each other.
I love being a Matfen Hall wedding photographer as the venue is quite simply one of the most stunning in the whole of the North East, but Lucy and Steven didn’t spend the whole day there and were married at the equally beautiful St Andrew’s Catholic Church hidden away in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne down a side street with it’s lovely interior featuring white walls and several stained glass windows… oh and a singer who was asked to sing Steven’s favourite hymn as a lovely surprise. It was a fantastic ceremony and the rest of the day and evening followed in the same vein!
The private garden always makes for a very happy Matfen Hall wedding photographer when it comes to the bride and groom portraits and luckily November has been a great month for dry weather whenever I’ve had a wedding, so we were able to make full use of the lovely surroundings and also the amazing views over the golf course. True to form Lucy and Steven spent most of the shoot laughing, but we got a few really sweet and loving photos too… that combination of fun, amusement and love really sums up these guys!
I received a lovely text from Lucy after she received the images which said:
“Andy… what can I say? I’m just so delighted with the pictures. They just reflect the exact spirit of our day. We are so gutted that we can’t have it all over again but you have given us the closest to it, Thank you so much!”
Now that’s why I love my job so much, to know you’ve given a couple such a great set of memories from the happiest day of their life is just the most amazing feeling ever 🙂
Steven unfortunately has to work away over Xmas, so I hope when Lucy sends him this link it helps him feel a little closer to home and brings back lots of amazing memories from the day, and I’d like to wish them both a life time of happiness, laughter and love.
