Linden Hall wedding photographer
Ruth and Melvyn were looking for a Linden Hall wedding photographer last year and came across my work, I’m so incredibly chuffed that they picked me as their wedding was one of the highlights of what has been an exceptional year. They were such awesome people to work with, chilled, fun and put their full trust in me to just ‘do my thing’ and be creative. The day itself was magical with the autumnal colours both outside and in the colour scheme, we had a song from Frozen performed admirably by one of the children and a lovely late afternoon that allowed for some great lens flare photos.
This was my first time being a Linden Hall wedding photographer but it’s a venue I really enjoyed shooting at, partly because it’s a very pretty place, but mainly because of Ruth and Melvyn, their families and their friends. I felt such a part of the wedding, everyone was super friendly and I had a real blast from start to finish. As Ruth was very well organised in the morning it gave me time to pop across to Melvyn and get some shots of him and his groomsmen too, including his dad who was also his best man… how lovely!
The ceremony was very moving, we had some lovely readings and romantic vows, all set in a stunning room with a picturesque staircase – perfect! The weather thankfully played nicely and stayed dry all day, despite a lot of drizzly rain the day before, and this meant we got some nice bride and groom portraits before the meal, and some hilarious speeches. Mainly Melvyn took the brunt of it which I’m sure you can tell my his expressions involved some pretty interesting and somewhat embarrassing stories… all taken in good spirits I must add.
Ruth and Melvyn pulled of a great first dance with a slow waltz and a little later their guests nearly out did them with some epic dancing! Then we headed out in to the night for a bit of experimental shooting, and as I know these guys really trust me I decided to go for a quite abstract black and white shot of them (the last shot in the storyboard)… one of my favourite photographs from this year. Which sort of leads me full circle as these guys, and this wedding were just epic, I’m extremely thankful for the chance to work with them and just be given full creative reign to work my magic. Awesome!
Ruth and Mel, what can I say? I was booked as your photographer and feel I left as your friend. The pleasure was all mine, but I hope it was at least some of yours too.
