I shot Lynsey & John’s wedding back in 2016 (wow is it really that long ago?!!), so being asked to pop along to Lynsey’s parent’s house back in April for another photoshoot was very exciting, you see this couple had become a three!!! Yes Cameron had come along 4 months previous, and as they now live in Australia I hadn’t had a chance to catch up with them, that was until I was invited along to a family gathering where they would be present.
I’m very fortunate in my work, I get to spend a great deal of time with people on happy occasions, actually ‘happy’ doesn’t really do it justice, some of the most important and joyous days of their lives would be far more accurate. Every now and then I get to meet up with them again and meet a new addition to their family, and be given the opportunity to photograph them, leaving an ever lasting memory of just what they were like at that moment in time. As a parent myself I understand just how damn quickly these moments go by, how quickly they change, and how it’s so hard keeping up with their development that you can’t also remember what they were like 6 months or a year ago.
Memories, that’s what it’s all about, and I’m extremely happy to have had the chance to document another stage in Lynsey and John’s life together. Cameron is a wonderful addition to their family and I have no doubt he’ll bring so much happiness in to their lives as he continues to grow and develop.
