Gemma & Sean’s wedding – North East wedding photographers

North East wedding photographers

Us North East wedding photographers are occasionally surprised by an element or aspect that’s unusual, interesting and makes the day extremely memorable.  Gemma and Sean’s big day had this in spades, with a band playing at the church (and a very good band at that!) through to some incredibly awesome dancing on the night time and finally a bit of fun with some sparklers just before I left the happy couple and guests to party the night away.  It was a fantastic wedding with a  really lovely couple, I even got a thank you during the speeches which never usually happens!

North East wedding photographers like myself get to see lots of different churches, however the International Harvest Church was really amazing, the ceremony was more a celebration than anything else, the band played songs, the couple and guests sang along, and the interior of the church was decorated in a lovely manner.  I would love to do many more ceremonies here in the future as it was so interesting to observe, and extremely inspiring to photograph.  At the centre of it all was a couple who clearly love each other deeply and have a real sense of fun, from being with Gemma in the morning to when I left them late in the night they were great to be around and made me feel very welcome.

After the ceremony we headed down to the Millennium Bridge for a few quick shots before moving on to Dissington Hall, one of my favourite venues which I learnt recently is sadly stopping the wedding side of their business in 2016.  Such a shame!  If this was one of my last weddings there I’m glad it was such a memorable one with such a great couple.  As night time descended we headed out in to the grounds with nothing but some sparklers and a few bits of kit that allowed me to do some long exposure light painting.  Gemma and Sean were brilliant at entertaining my ideas and it really paid off, i’ve never tried light painting before but will definitely be doing it again in the future, and it was great to end the night with such fun and romantic photos.

Gemma & Sean I hope the photos give you amazing memories for years to come, thank you for making me feel so welcome on your big day.
