Katie & Andy’s wedding – Mansion House Wedding Photographer

Mansion House wedding photographer

Katie and Andy asked me to be their Mansion House wedding photographer and capture their gorgeous big day at a really stunning venue with a rich history (it’s a common stop over for kings and queens from around the world).  However on a really nice day in July the place belonged to this great couple and their friends and family, and it was a fantastic wedding!  The room where Katie had her bridal preparations was nice and large with a great amount of natural light pouring in, and best of all a door that opened on to a balcony with turrets which made a stunning location for some shots of her before the ceremony.    Katie looked absolutely stunning and her bridesmaids likewise, and the morning was very relaxed with a little bit of champagne (which caused a few problems trying to open it) being sipped during the hair and makeup.   Andy was also looking great in his blue suit and when you saw them standing together during the ceremony they looked really cool and stylish.

One of the most enjoyable parts of being asked to be a couple’s Mansion House wedding photographer is the bride and groom portraits in the stunning grounds of the venue.  Although it’s in a prime development spot in a very affluent area of Newcastle (Jesmond) they have resisted selling the land and instead have really pretty gardens that are perfect for photos.  It also helps to have a couple like Katie & Andy who are really good in front of the camera, meaning we got some really amazingly romantic shots!  They were really good on the pre-wedding shoot too so it was no surprise they were nice and relaxed on the day for their portraits.

The speeches we hilarious and everyone was in stitches for them, and it was also Katie’s 30th birthday so the venue gave her a nice cake, and I think it’s safe to say Andy won’t be forgetting the date of their wedding anniversary in a hurry!

The party was good fun too later on in the evening and once The Killers ‘Mr Brightside’ came on the dance floor was packed… so packed I could barely fit on to get my trademark dancing photos, but I just about managed and it was awesome photographing people enjoying the music and dancing the night away.

Katie & Andy are such a well matched couple and it was really a pleasure to get to know them during the pre-wedding shoot and the wedding, I wish them all the happiness in the world together!
