April & Noel got engaged – Surprise proposal photography

Surprise proposal photography

I had the most amazing phone call from Noel asking about surprise proposal photography, and if it was something I would be able to shoot.  The plan?  Find somewhere nice and quiet, create a ruse so April had no idea what was about to happen, and then Noel would get down on one knee whilst I captured every moment.  Amazing!!!

Some of their closet friends would be in attendance and Noel had thrown April off the scent by saying it was a ‘friends shoot’, whereas I suggested Druridge Bay due to it being a beautiful and very quiet stretch of beach and to bring some champagne to celebrate after.  It all went perfectly to plan… in fact even the weather despite spitting for a few minutes after April had said yes held off and the party continued on the beach for some time after.

April and Noel are clearly very loved, their friends were nearly as excited and happy as them, it was such a lovely atmosphere to be around and it was brilliant that they were all there to see April say yes.  Oh and it was also April’s birthday too so she was seriously spoilt with cards and of course a gorgeous diamond ring!

This was my first time shooting surprise proposal photography but I hope it happens again some time, to capture these moments for the couple really was a huge privilege.  I know they’ll cherish the images and the story they tell for ever, how cool is that?!
