Matfen Hall weddings
I’ve shot quite a few Matfen Hall weddings (http://www.matfenhall.com) over the past 12 months and Gayle and Andy’s was another fantastic occasion. Gayle is a triplet so you may have noticed there was a striking resemblance between her and 2 of the bridesmaids, who all got ready together in room 6 which has an amazing huge window that over looks the grounds and creates beautiful light for the bridal prep shots. The sun was shining in to the room and the weather for the entire day was good, some sun and later a covering of cloud, but dry and reasonably warm which allowed us to use the grounds around the venue for some lovely bride and groom portraits.
I love shooting Matfen Hall weddings as the venue is spectacular, the Great Hall in particular is something really amazing and Gayle & Andy had a very touching and romantic ceremony with their close friends and family watching, and as this was a really intimate wedding it was moving and a touching occasion. The whole day was like that though, intimate, touching and a real pleasure to be part of, they are a lovely couple and I had lots of fun with them on their pre-wedding shoot along with their gorgeous dog Bernie the week before the wedding (they booked me last minute). Although Bernie wasn’t there on the day his brother a white Alaskan Malamute was and not only was he there but was wearing a black bow tie… so cute!!!
I stuck around for the evening do and caught some great photos of the guests and the happy couple dancing the night away in the Vaults bar which is a little night club below the Great Hall and is a really cool place for a couple to have their evening reception, there were lots of crazy dance moves being pulled and everyone seemed to be really enjoying the party. This was a lovely wedding to photograph and Gayle and Andy are really relaxed people who I enjoyed spending time with, I wish them lots of happiness in their lives together.
