Becky & John – Alnwick Gardens wedding photography

Alnwick Gardens wedding photography | Becky & John

My first time shooting Alnwick Gardens wedding photography, and it couldn’t have been for a more amazing couple than Becky & John… THE nicest people you could ever meet, and a super fun and beautiful wedding.  My job doesn’t get better than this!!!

What was your favourite part of the wedding?

Our favourite part of the wedding were the 15 mins we had in the garden having our photos with you. We enjoyed just messing around and being alone for just the smallest amount of times.  We aren’t confident in front of the camera, but because we were not posing it just made it fun and a lovely moment to remember.

Please let me know about any personal or DIY touches you added to make the day a little more ‘you’.

Ha! This has to have been having our dog Bodhi bringing our rings to us. He ran so fast and needed no prompting at all. We also loved how some people weren’t sure if it was planned or not, and wondered if a random dog had just gate crashed our wedding….. this is the same for the Llamas, so random, we loved it and loved that the guests and children loved it too…those photos make me smile so much.

How did you find using Andy Hudson Photography?

ANDY IS THE BEST. We knew from the moment we met Andy he was the right photographer for us. Neither of us are particularly comfortable in front of the camera and did not want the experience to be strained or forced.

Prior to the wedding Andy’s portfolio showed us wonderful examples of relaxed couples on their wedding day, having fun, enjoying the day and capturing those lovely moments that sometimes slip you by. Our day went so fast, but it is wonderful having his photos of these funny little moments from our day to look back on.

As I mentioned we are not particularly comfortable in front of the camera and one of the best things about Andy is his documentary style approach, which ensured that all the lovely photos we have of us and our guest are really natural, beautiful and composed in an organic and natural fashion.

When we received our photo’s it was like reliving the day all over again, and wonderful to see all those special moments we experienced, as well as discover the moments we missed. Such as children playing with the gong we had, or people laughing at our special guests, Llamas and ring-bearing dog.

If you were doing it all again what would be the one bit of advice you’d give yourself at the start of the planning process?

Try on more dresses. Plan further ahead of time. Have a smaller wedding hahahahahhaha – but we would always still hire Andy as our photographer.
